I decided to take a moment today to remember Louise Hay, who passed away yesterday at the age of 90. What an inspiration she is. Do yourself a favor and take the time to read her story and biography. She turned her life around after an abusive childhood, fractured relationships, and an incurable cancer diagnosis, creating incredible positive change and prosperity for herself and so many others.
When I read Louise Hay’s book You Can Heal Your Life seven years ago, it changed my life. I remember sitting in my bed, angry and resentful about my failed marriage, and suddenly becoming conscious of what I was thinking, as if a lightbulb went off, and remembering that I am responsible for what I am thinking and that I don’t want to be thinking these thoughts. I wanted to be cured, forgiven, and free of the anger and pain I was feeling. So I went down to the bookstore and the first book I saw was Louise Hay’s You Can Heal Your Life, which I read in a day or two and which totally changed the course of my life.

To begin, let me state that I am not a fan of “self-help” books. Any that I’ve read have always struck me as preachy and arrogant, as if to say, “Well, if you just did THIS, your life will be awesome.” But after reading the blurb on this one and realizing that the material was extremely important to my personal life at the time, I thought, why not? So I read the I got a complimentary copy of this book from Hay House for review purposes over the last evening and this morning. My views are purely my own and are based on my own experiences. Whether it’s the end of a relationship, the death of a loved one, or something else, everyone experiences loss at some point in their lives. If you, like me, find loss difficult to accept, writers David Kessler and Louise Hay will help. They’ve written a wonderful new book called You Can Heal Your Heart: Finding Peace After a Breakup, Divorce, or Death about the topic.
