Divide the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers to get the student/teacher ratio. Please keep in mind that a lower student-to-teacher ratio does not always imply a smaller class size. Schools occasionally employ part-time teachers, and some teachers are hired for specialized teaching with limited class sizes. The student-to-teacher ratio is influenced by these and other factors. Pre-Kindergarten may not be included of the student/teacher ratio in private schools.

“I live in Lincoln with my two children and am not impressed. The school seems to be charming at first sight. When it comes to working with teachers, though, I’ve found them to be incredibly unsuccessful at resolving issues. I’m greeted with big smiles and big promises, but the bottom line is that they don’t deliver. My children have learned from a young age that adults cannot be trusted to deal with bullying. They’ve discovered that school is something to put up with and that learning takes place at home on their own terms. It makes me very sad to see this happen in the early years of education. Brookline’s school administration employs a similar strategy. They “”listen”” and “”promise”” but ultimately “”pass the buck”” to the kids. Bullying is a major problem at Lincoln, and the anti-bullying program, in my view, is nothing more than a poster on the wall. It’s really frustrating as a parent to be promised improvement and then see teachers and administrators struggle to deliver. It’s happened so many times that it’s impossible to believe it’s only an accidental blunder. My children have lost confidence in adults and in school as a result of this.”
