What is a live case

Live case demonstration is a common educational tool for quickly disseminating knowledge on surgical and interventional techniques. However, the advantages and drawbacks of live case transmission for investigational devices are debatable.
The Transcatheter Aortic Valve Intervention-Live Transmission (VERITAS) study involves 60 patients from five centers who were treated with transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) during live or registered transmission, with 42 matched Control subjects from five sites. Valve sort, access strategy (Edwards SAPIEN transfemoral, Edwards SAPIEN transapical, CoreValve transfemoral), Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) score, date of TAVR operation, and primary operator were all used to align Case and Control subjects.
The Case and Control groups had identical baseline characteristics, with average ages of 84 and 82 years, respectively, and STS ratings of 6.543.22 and 6.463.20. There were no significant differences in the number of operators, fluoroscopy time, contrast volume, or length of hospital stay between classes. A transfemoral approach was used in 91.7 percent of the cases, and 72 percent of these patients received a closure unit. In 91.2 percent of Case patients and 97 percent of Control patients, the final valve location was satisfactory, with no cases of valve migration or coronary obstruction. The procedure periods for the Case patients were longer (130.250.6 versus 100.643.7 minutes; p=0.006). In-hospital complications were similar in both categories, according to the Valve Academic Research Consortium. Additional valve implantation was necessary in four Case patients and one Control patient.

“Percent Arabica is about my passion for coffee, design, and travel,” says Ken Shoji, the company’s founder and CEO. Ken’s story started in Tokyo, but I met him in Kuwait. “My father owned a manufacturing and trading company, and he and his regular business trips would take me overseas whenever they could, eventually inspiring my interest in multiculturalism, design, and architecture.”
The headquarters of & Other Stories in Stockholm are surprisingly low-key. It’s a far cry from the image of ultra-hip Swedish chic that H&M and its other labels aim to project on the planet, as it’s located on a quiet street in a suburban area of the city. Unlike Zara’s fashion brands, which cater to a wide range of ages and attitudes, H&M’s portfolio is more of a set of various lifestyle concepts. It’s more fun and exclusive.
23andMe has the potential to shift not just our attitudes toward health, nutrition, and mortality, but also whole industries: medications created in response to future needs, healthcare refocused on prevention, and insurance rates changed to represent emerging risks.

The Graduate School of Logistics at the Technical University of Dortmund is unique in Germany in that it offers a doctoral program that is completely financed from outside sources. Business leaders, scientists, and scholarship recipients meet here in person and participate in ongoing, practice-oriented, frequently interdisciplinary, and highly networked exchange. Doctoral students learn the skills they’ll need to become future logistics executives.
The annual Summer School is one of the highlights of the GSofLog. For a week, Ph.D. students in logistics and related fields meet to attend lectures and seminars, discuss ideas, and, most importantly, collaborate on solution concepts for the annual live case study.
DB Schenker presents the live case here every year: The participants are invited and confronted on-site with a real-world logistics optimization mission. Doctoral students work in groups to create solution ideas, which they present at the end of the week.
Google live case – unboxing and overview
A live case presentation is a live or pre-recorded broadcast of a surgical or percutaneous operation, with or without expert panel and/or audience participation, usually narrated by the operator (or a discussant other than the operator). These talks are usually broadcast at scientific meetings in order to raise awareness of the clinical trial and attract potential investigators and research participants. Products or procedures that automatically capture video during use (e.g., laparoscopic and thorascopic devices), telemedicine, and videos that are regularly recorded and broadcast as part of an institution’s regular policies are all beyond the reach of this guidance. Investigators should adhere to the institution’s rules on the sharing of these types of video files, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
We anticipate that only a small percentage of IDE inquiries will require live case presentations. Live case presentations, on the other hand, can speed up the availability of new therapies by raising awareness of the study among health care professionals and qualified subjects. Requesting a live case presentation for a clinical investigation approaching completion is usually not acceptable since live case presentations are mostly used to hire investigators and subjects, though exceptions can exist.
