Belchertown is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, that encompasses the central village of the town of Belchertown. At the 2010 census, the town had a population of 2,899 people, out of a total of 14,649. It is a member of the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area in Massachusetts.
The Belchertown CDP is located at 42°16′42′′N 72°24′6′′W / 42.27833°N 72.40167°W / 42.27833; -72.40167°W / 42.27833; -72.40167°W / 42.27833; -72.40167°W / 42.27833; -72.40167°W / 42.27833; -72.40167°W (42.278451, -72.401804).
 It is bounded on the north by Bay Road and Massachusetts Route 9 (Federal Street and Sargent Street), on the east by Jabish Brook and Jabish Canal, on the west by Broad Brook and Old Springfield Road, on the south by State Street (US Route 202), and on the west by Weston Brook, Lampson Brook, George Hannum Street, and Hamilton Street.
 US 202 runs north 26 miles (42 km) to Athol and southwest 13 miles (21 km) to Holyoke, while Route 9 runs east 10 miles (16 km) to Ware and northwest 9 miles (14 km) to Amherst. Massachusetts is a state in the United States Route 181 departs from US 202 in the heart of town and heads south for 10 miles (16 kilometers) to Palmer. At the CDP’s western side, Massachusetts Route 21 leaves US 202 and heads southwest for 10 miles to Ludlow.
