Chiropractor in bellevue reveals how his clinic treats

Neuropathic pain is a form of pain caused by damaged nerves. It’s not the same as pain signals sent by damaged tissue along healthy nerves (for example from a fall, a cut, or arthritic knee). Neuropathic pain is treated differently than pain caused by damaged tissue by various medications. Medicines such as paracetamol and ibuprofen are ineffective in the treatment of neuropathic pain, but medications used to treat depression or epilepsy can be very helpful in certain patients with neuropathic pain. Our understanding of fibromyalgia is much more limited, but it can be treated with the same medications as neuropathic pain.
On May 8, 2013, we ran a search to see if there were any clinical trials using topiramate to treat neuropathic pain or fibromyalgia. We found four high-quality studies that compared topiramate to placebo over a period of weeks. Almost all of the 1684 people in the sample had painful limbs due to diabetes-related nerve damage.
Topiramate did not relieve pain and was similar to placebo in terms of side effects, which caused even more participants to drop out of the studies early. With topiramate, about 3 out of 10 people withdrew due to side effects, compared to 1 out of 10 with placebo.

Migraine is a very common and painful disease. Choosing the right drug for each patient means taking into account the patient’s medical background, lifestyle, comorbid conditions, and personal preferences. TMS and ketamine, for example, are two new treatment choices. Dr. Lawrence Robbins
Migraine headaches are a leading cause of disability in the United States, affecting nearly 27 million people (17.1% of women and 5.6 percent of men).
1 Classical migraine has been replaced with migraine with aura, and non-classical migraine has been renamed migraine without aura to help better describe migraines. Chronic migraine is characterized as having migraine symptoms for at least 15 days a month, lasting at least 4 hours, and lasting longer than 3 months. It affects 3.2 million Americans (2 percent). This differs from episodic migraine, which occurs on less than 15 days a month. 2 Acute, abortive agents (analgesics, triptans, ergots, etc.) and drugs that avoid migraine onset are currently used to treat chronic migraine.

Neurologist discusses gabapentin

One of the most common conditions in neurologic hospitals is neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain is normal and severe, and it sometimes leads to unintended consequences. Despite this, there is no successful cure for it.
After a 4-week period in the neurology clinic of Imam Khomeini Hospital of Urmia district, Iran, 30 patients with pain due to neuropathy who had at least one month of neuropathic pain in one region were randomized to receive either gabapentin, titrated from 300 mg/day to a maximum of 900 mg/day, or topiramate, titrated from 50 mg/day to a maximum of 100 mg/day. Pressure, complication, and drug tolerance rate were all investigated. On a visual analog scale, pain was calculated (VAS). SPSS version 18 was used to analyze the results, which included descriptive statistics, t-tests, and ANOVA.
The primary pain score in patients treated with gabapentin was 74.3310.29, which decreased to 49.4611.41 and 29.9311.92 in the second and fourth weeks after gabapentin action. The primary score in topiramate-treated patients was 76.009.69. At the same time, it fell to 54.3310.31 and 34.206.09. In terms of average pain intensity reduction, there were no major differences between the two groups [gabapentin group (59.73%) vs. topiramate group (55%) (p=0.48)]. Drowsiness was the only side effect recorded in patients treated with gabapentin in this study, although nausea and dizziness were also reported as unusual side effects.
