This is a summary written on behalf of my youngest child (7). She grew to enjoy reading after struggling with it early on, and when she read The Wild Robot last year, it became her favorite novel. This was her first time expecting a sequel, and it exceeded her standards on every level. She enjoyed watching Roz and Brightbill from their unintentional beginning to their victorious end(? ), and we had a fascinating discussion about what makes you special and how portable that identity could be. She locked the two books in a special case normally reserved for dolls to shield them from some kind of danger after staying up late to finish the sequel and then talking my ear off about it. I’m not sure if that counts for a star ranking, but you get the idea.
