Our restaurants are supervised dining environments that have been redesigned to ensure everyone’s safety. We decreased the number of people in our room at any given time by more than half, we strictly enforce mask wearing when not eating or drinking at a table, and we maintain safely spaced tables and ample dividers throughout. We have UV germicidal light air purifiers professionally mounted in our HVAC system, a proven bioaerosol control tool used in hospitals. Workers must follow stringent cleaning and sanitizing procedures, which includes wearing masks at all times. Stop by sometime; we’d be happy to show you some of the improvements we’ve made to improve safety.

My husband and I both got jobs at Harvard, which is why we lived in the United States for the past year. Because of the high-ranking elementary schools in Belmont, we choose to rent an apartment there, and we are very pleased with our decision! Wellington is incredible! My son started first grade without understanding a single word of English! But I was astounded at how much his English had changed in just a few months! He practically spoke natively by the end of the school! Both the before and after treatment were excellent. The students and faculty had a great time together. They’re so sweet and welcoming! The principal and the teachers were fantastic! Wellington, you are incredible!
Divide the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers to get the student/teacher ratio. Please keep in mind that a lower student-to-teacher ratio does not always imply a smaller class size. Schools occasionally employ part-time teachers, and some teachers are hired for specialized teaching with limited class sizes. The student-to-teacher ratio is influenced by these and other factors. Pre-Kindergarten may not be included of the student/teacher ratio in private schools.

The historic Wellington Station is a highly visible local landmark close to Belmont Center, located on town-owned parkland at 2 Common Street (adjacent to the First Church in Belmont). The banner at the top of each page of our website features this structure as its focal point. Over the past 40 years, the Belmont Historical Society has owned and preserved this 174-year-old structure. The Society applied for and was awarded a Community Preservation Act (CPA) grant in 2015 to cover the cost of repairing the station’s wooden roof. The Society’s Board of Directors approved funds in the fall of 2016 to cover the cost of replacing the station’s wooden porch and painted trim. In October 2017, the main renovation work, which included the replacement of the wooden roof shingles, was completed.
Samuel O. Mead designed the Wellington Station near its current location in 1840 for use as a private school until 1851, when it was leased to the Fitchburg Railroad to replace the first train station, which had burned down that year. The building was sold to the railroad in 1852 and relocated to the current Municipal Light Building, where it served as a train station until 1879, when it was replaced by a larger structure. The station was relocated to the Underwood Estate, where it operated as a summer house and artist’s studio until 1974, when it was donated to the Belmont Historical Society, and then relocated to its current location in 1980.
