Staying in State College for business or visiting a student was my first preference. The property is first-rate and reasonably priced. There are several food choices nearby, as well as easy access to the campus. It’s easy because there’s a parking garage nearby.

Take a look inside state college’s new restaurant, central

State College, Pennsylvania, is one of America’s best college cities. We have Penn State football, amazing natural scenery and outdoor events, and some of Central Pennsylvania’s finest restaurants, as well as a thriving bar scene to match. There’s a bar in State College for everyone, if you’re looking for a peaceful dive to enjoy a cold beer, the ideal spot to cheer on the Nittany Lions to victory, or an expertly made cocktail. The Phyrst Phyrst Phyrst Phyr The Phyrst is the most popular Penn State bar.
The Phyrst is almost a sacred place for generations of Penn Staters, and alumni speak of it in reverent tones — and with good reason! The game of Table Wars, which pits patrons against each other depending on where they’re sitting; singalongs with the Phyrst Family Band; and the pounding of the cowbell introducing a rowdy “PSU” chant are all Penn State traditions. No State College bar crawl is full without a stop at The Phyrst, as everyone can tell you.
