Fr. bob’s message to the students of st. pius v school
Divide the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers to get the student/teacher ratio. Please keep in mind that a lower student-to-teacher ratio does not always imply a smaller class size. Schools occasionally employ part-time teachers, and some teachers are hired for specialized teaching with limited class sizes. The student-to-teacher ratio is influenced by these and other factors. Pre-Kindergarten may not be included of the student/teacher ratio in private schools.

Faculty members from St. Pius V School in Lynn show certificates showing that they have completed the Roche Center for Catholic Education’s curriculum “Serving Exceptional Learners in Catholic Schools.” St. Pius V School pilot photo
LYNN is a fictional character. The Certificate in Serving Exceptional Learners in Catholic Schools, provided by Boston College’s Roche Center for Catholic Education, was recently completed by all full-time teachers at St. Pius V School. Paul Maestranzi, principal of St. Pius V, heard about the certificate program from Kristin Melley, director of professional development at the Roche Center. While the credential is not a degree and does not train teachers to be special educators, it does include graduate credit and prepares teachers to serve diverse learners in Catholic classrooms. “I was very interested,” Maestranzi told The Pilot, “but I wanted to do it in a way that it would stick through the entire school.” The Roche Center and St. Pius V School worked to restructure the course structure so that teachers could learn from a professor during faculty meetings and development days while still doing their work online. The certificate program was completed in two years by the faculty at St. Pius V. “Some of the classes had to be restructured. They did, however, make it possible. They were incredibly welcoming “Maestranzi expressed his thoughts.

At St. Pius V, we believe that every child deserves to be loved and respected, and that they should be given the opportunity to grow their individual strengths, faith, and character in a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
All we teach at St. Pius V is based on a firm faith basis, allowing students to progress to higher levels of education with a strong sense of intent and belief in their ability to make a positive difference in the world.
Our motto is really lived at St. Pius V. We are more than a school… we are a “Family of Faith” where students are treated with love and reverence, and our teachers and staff know each and every student by name due to our small school size.
In 2018, my wife and I enrolled our two daughters at St. Pius V. We were looking for a faith-filled community where our two daughters could be nurtured and develop. It was discovered at St. Pius V Catholic School. We were confident that we had found the right and proper Catholic educational setting for our two daughters after visiting the campus, attending mass, and speaking with Fr. Paw and Dr. Bravo.
