This school has three of my children, one of whom recently graduated. This school has always been good and welcoming, both academically and socially. I can’t say enough about the quality of the teachers, instructional services, and, most importantly, the principal and administration who push this school to achieve academic excellence while still cultivating a caring community.
Divide the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers to get the student/teacher ratio. Please keep in mind that a lower student-to-teacher ratio does not always imply a smaller class size. Schools occasionally employ part-time teachers, and some teachers are hired for specialized teaching with limited class sizes. The student-to-teacher ratio is influenced by these and other factors. Pre-Kindergarten may not be included of the student/teacher ratio in private schools.

One of the strongest schools is St. Peter’s Central Catholic. The teachers are genuinely concerned, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Instead of nursery through eighth grade, the Worcester diocese could add a high school that goes through 12th grade. My child is now homeschooled because he or she enjoys the high school that I put him or her in. Please make use of this week to address the high school situation.
This institution does not provide a high-quality education. Teachers stay for a long time because they lack certification in their field and have nowhere else to go. The principal is present in all areas of the building, but not in the classroom. She devotes all of her time to fundraising and serving as a hall monitor. She does not supervise or provide instructional leadership to the teachers or their teaching. She does not follow academic guidelines. My son attended this school from kindergarten through second grade before being kicked out halfway through second grade. Placing him in a fantastic Worcester Public School is a great idea. When he transferred to the high school, he was well behind because of the poor academic expectations at St. Peter’s. He is intelligent, and his public school teachers worked extra hard with him to help him catch up quickly. In Worcester, there are also better public schools. I regret sending him to St. Peter’s and am unable to recommend them to any other relatives.
