Simon and schuster internship
Bite-size book buzz: simon & schuster, penguin
Participants in the Simon & Schuster Internship Program will get an unrivaled behind-the-scenes learning opportunity. Interns work in particular departments but have the opportunity to learn about all facets of the book publishing industry through speaker presentations, mentoring partnerships, and networking opportunities.
Interns are assigned to various imprints or units on the adult or children’s side of the company based on their interests, expertise, college coursework, and Simon & Schuster’s business needs. Previously, I’ve worked in the editorial, communications, and advertising divisions.
Interns will work alongside and shadow publishing practitioners. They will also participate in weekly lunch and learn activities tailored especially for the intern class, as well as attend meetings and events.
Summer, Autumn, and Spring sessions will be represented by three 10-week programs each year. To meet the interns’ academic schedules, the summer session will be 35 hours a week and the Fall and Spring sessions will be a minimum of 16-20 hours a week.

The Simon & Schuster Summer Internship Program provides students with a special behind-the-scenes look and learning experience in the book publishing industry. Interns will be assigned to various imprints and publishing departments based on their preferences, allowing them to learn about all facets of the company. They will spend a “day in the life” of an entry-level assistant in their assigned department, assisted by a mentor. They will also engage in planned lunch and learn sessions and networking opportunities as a group each week.
