St. Catherine of Siena School is an excellent partner in the Norwood region as well as many neighboring towns. SCS is a thriving school today thanks to the efforts of several local businesses and companies.
For nearly 90 years, we have educated boys and girls academically, athletically, artistically, and most importantly spiritually. We were founded in 1926 by Father James Doherty and are staffed by the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. Our graduates have left us with a strong picture of who they are and how God plays a part in their lives.
We are a school that values the integrity of every child entrusted to us. We must respect the unique learning needs of our students because they are all created in the image and likeness of God and have been given talents and gifts to share. We help each child achieve their God-given potential through our dedication to Differentiated Education, our Gifted and Talented Program, and our Learning Center.

SCS is a wonderful school where character building is just as important as academics. My children are committed learners who have grown into the types of students you want for your children. My eldest was well-equipped for high school. I can’t think of a better environment for kids to enter their adolescent years than Middle School.
There have been ups and downs at the school. This year, I’ve made some changes. The principal, like the teachers, is putting in long hours. I’m excited to see what this year has in store for me. We are excited to meet the new Vice President.
To be honest, I can’t say enough positive things about SCS. I’m not sure why there’s so much negativity here. Before accusing anyone else, does anyone question themselves and their actions? To the person who is your inside source and is writing about the advisory board: When you sign up for that board, you must sign a confidentiality agreement. I’d be more worried that your source is untrustworthy than how many teachers would be assigned to a single grade. I’ve never seen a principal or a group of teachers who are more worried with their students’ well-being. It’s a shame that people feel compelled to complain about anything here. I realize that not everyone has had the same experience, but it is disgraceful to come on here and basically name names. Aren’t we all grown-ups? Are you a Catholic or Christian if you sent or are sending your children to this school? Try to apply what you’ve learned to stop slandering people! If you don’t like it, move on. You can always talk about it, but pointing fingers doesn’t prove anything. Except there’s a certain amount of immaturity here. And before you point the finger at someone, take a look at yourself! Even, before you make a message, please read the guidelines.

We have four children who attend SCS, and we have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time there! Our eldest has now been there for almost nine years!! One of the key reasons we send our children to SCS is the sense of community! SCS never fails to provide the most affordable catholic education in the area, even in these difficult economic times! The faculty and teachers are almost like family to us because they watch out for our children in the same way that we would. If you are considering enrolling your child or children at SCS, rest assured that they will be well cared for and taught not only an excellent education, but also what it means to be a faithful individual and a member of a caring society! Thank you, SCS, for all you have done and continue to do for our girls!!! – Parent – Proud parents of four children! 7/24/2015 5 For various reasons, we transferred both of our sons to St Catherine. The school has become an outstanding learning experience for them. We believe that the teachers have instilled in them a deep desire to learn. We believe they have the potential and knowledge to complete high school and attend a good college now that we have witnessed the Catholic school community. – kpitrEndorse Saint Catherine Of Siena School – Posted by Parent Endorsements can be no more than a few sentences long.
