Using the equip task review rubric for mathematics
Interdisciplinary units make up STEAM ventures. They should use backwards design concepts, just like any other decent device. We will organize supportive activities and ongoing evaluation to ensure that students are using the project to achieve the expected learning results once we have a clear understanding of the unit’s outcomes. To do so, I’d like to show you how I created rubrics for a Grade 4 math STEAM project involving constructing the tallest tower possible with only Popsicle sticks, clothespins, and binder clips. We decided to launch a robotics team at our school a few years ago. When I say “we,” I’m referring to the students, parents, and administration at the school. While all of the teachers agreed that it was a good idea, there was one major question: who would step forward to lead the charge? None of the professors had ever designed a robot, let alone taught a student how to do so! As a result, I volunteered to start the robotics club, knowing that I’d have to learn alongside the students.
Using rubrics for assessment
Standard: Use methods like ordered lists, tables, and tree diagrams to represent sample spaces for compound events. Identify the outcomes in the sample space that make up an event defined in everyday language (e.g., “rolling double sixes”).

In class, students plan and work on their assignments. They go over the project rubric as a class and add parameters that are important to their projects. How to fill out a project rubric
Grading is one of the most challenging aspects of using math menus. In this article, I’ll show you how to assess student work using simple tools like rubrics and checklists. I also show you how to make a math menu rubric in under 10 minutes using a free app.
I’ll admit that using content-focused math menus as part of my regular curriculum hasn’t always been a priority for me. Menus are often used as quick-finishing tasks for me. In these circumstances, I challenge my students to complete the menus, but I give homework vouchers in return for completed assignments, such as no homework for a day or a week. I know some of you are gasping right now, but finishing the menu takes more time and effort than doing weekly homework, so a day or week without homework is well-deserved!
Using a checklist to test menu items is a quick way to do so. When I allocate menus, I typically create a document with project guidelines that sets out my expectations for high-quality work. I use the criteria to create the checklist, and I assign a point value to each item on the list.
