My son went to REM for kindergarten and first grade. I was a huge fan of his instructors. His teachers were still engaged with the students, and he learned a lot. I liked how the school held activities for the families on a regular basis.” My S.P. E.D. student’s principal and administrative staff are snobby, and they have broken laws and regulations in disciplining him. My son is protected from bullying by the boys, but not by the girls. The school may not have a mental health counselor on staff; instead, they decided to have a social worker give therapy to my son. He had never had any issues with his actions until he started going to that school. He claims that they constantly hurry him through it and that he is stressed out as a result. He’s just six years old. According to the district website, the school’s “”continuous improvement strategy”” is to “”maximize the time [the school] has with them”” by rushing the students into all. The majority of the students at the school are low-income, and it’s obvious that many of the teachers think we’re bad parents because we’re poor. My child’s classroom teacher is the only one who does not speak down to my husband and me.”
