(Roxbury, Massachusetts) The women’s and men’s basketball teams from Roxbury Community College (RCC) finished an exciting championship season over the weekend at the NJCCA Division III Tournaments. The women won their first two rounds before falling to Rock Valley CC in overtime in the championship game at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. At SUNY-Sullivan Community College in Loch Sheldrake, New York, the men were defeated by #1 ranked Rock Valley CC.
“Our men’s and women’s basketball teams each gave us an unforgettable season full of heart, creativity, and excitement, and they remain our heroes and sheroes,” said RCC President Dr. Valerie Roberson. Without the help of their coaches, trainers, and the RCC athletic team, they would not have progressed as far as they did. The students, faculty, administrators, families, and friends who have supported Roxbury Community College’s athletic programs this year are greatly appreciated. We are optimistic that our Tigers will make a strong comeback next season, and we will be there to help them.”
