As a vegetarian, I make an effort to get enough protein in my diet. I make an effort to include some kind of protein in each of my meals. I could add egg whites or Greek yogurt to my oatmeal for breakfast. Lunch consists primarily of salads or sandwiches in which I add nuts, beans or legumes, cheese, hummus, and other ingredients. However, I’m still on the lookout for new ways to supplement my protein intake. When I learned Flatout was releasing a new ProteinUP version of their wraps, I knew I had to give them a try.
I’d tried a few of Flatout’s items before and they were all fantastic, so I had high hopes for these. The true test was whether or not this would satisfy me. I’ve always found that after eating sandwiches or wraps, I’m hungry again in an hour or less. Carbohydrates and I don’t get along. Don’t get me wrong: I love carbs, but they don’t satisfy me as much as they should. That is why I enjoy eating a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, beans, legumes, and, of course, oatmeal. That’s another excuse I don’t eat cold cereal (I might eat a bowl of that crack after another!).

It used to be all too normal for me to be rushed every morning as I tried to get ready for work while still having two kids ready for the day. Normally, I would only have enough time to prepare a quick and easy breakfast for all of us, followed by a lunch for the kids. But what about my own lunch? Put it out of your mind. This normally meant I had to buy lunch on a regular basis. On the plus side, I normally ate salads or wraps, which are both healthier choices. However, in order to save money, I’ve recently started making more of an effort to bring my lunch from home. This recipe for making these must-try low-carb wraps is one of my favorites. The wraps are simple to make and packed with delicious ingredients like cream cheese, ham, lettuce, and tomatoes.
The actual wraps are extremely simple to make with this recipe. One cup of finely ground flaxseed meal, one egg, 12 cup boiling water, and 12 teaspoon salt are the only ingredients you’ll need. To begin, combine the flaxseed meal and salt in a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. After that, beat in the egg until it’s well mixed, and then pour in the boiling water. Flaxseed meal is ideal for making low-carb wraps because it gives them a satisfyingly chewy texture.
