Our new lease/agreement with the Landlord has been in effect since 2017. They asked for extra financial contributions in order for us to keep our apartment and extend our lease. We are unable to agree to the financial burden of this request due to our existing business model. They have agreed to terminate the month-to-month lease we have been working under since January of 2019 after months of talks and negotiations.
Even if we had been able to continue operating under our current arrangement, the journey to reopening would have been challenging (as many, many restaurants are going to soon be struggling with themselves). However, once the shutdown is over, we would have extensively explored any and all resources open to us, including low-interest loans, grants, and subsidies, to name a few.
