Nortriptyline dosage for migraine
Most common side effects of amitriptyline
Migraine is a very common and debilitating condition. The background, lifestyle, comorbid conditions, and personal preferences of each patient must all be taken into account when selecting a therapeutic agent. Brooke Phenicie, NP-C, and Lawrence Robbins, MD
Migraine headaches are a prevalent cause of impairment in the United States, affecting about 60 million people (18.1% of women and 5.6 percent of men).
1 Classical migraine has been replaced with migraine with aura, and nonclassical migraine has been renamed migraine without aura to help better describe migraines. Chronic migraine is characterized as having migraine symptoms for at least 15 days a month, lasting at least 4 hours, and lasting longer than 3 months. It affects 3.2 million Americans (2 percent). This differs from episodic migraine, which occurs on less than 15 days a month. 2 Acute abortive agents (analgesics, triptans, ergots, etc.) and drugs to avoid migraine onset are currently used to treat chronic migraine.
