The designated anti-poverty, community action organization for the cities and towns of Salem, Peabody, Beverly, and Danvers is North Shore Community Action Programs (NSCAP). The goal of NSCAP is to help low-income people empower themselves as they work toward self-sufficiency, as well as to encourage the wider community to be more sensitive to their needs.

North Shore Community Action Programs, Inc. (NSCAP) provides creative social services to over 12,000 people each year, assisting low-income families and individuals in achieving the stability they need to escape poverty.
NSCAP is the official anti-poverty agency for Peabody, Salem, Beverly, Danvers, and the surrounding areas, having been founded in 1965. In five main areas, NSCAP offers a number of programs and services:
NSCAP serves as a catalyst for securing new funding and focusing available public and private capital to help low-income people gain the skills and information they need to become economically self-sufficient, civically active, and live in dignity and decency.
NSCAP will continue to pursue programs to achieve this goal, including making the whole community more sensitive to the needs and concerns of the vulnerable, increasing involvement in community affairs, and developing advocacy institutions as a means of improving community conditions.

North Shore Community Action Programs, Inc. (NSCAP) is a social service organization that helps low-income families and individuals gain the skills and knowledge they need to become economically self-sufficient, civically active, and live in integrity and decency. The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSCAP) is a private, non-profit organization.
We offer a number of programs and services in five main areas to accomplish our mission: education and training, economic stabilization, housing and homelessness reduction, energy services, and home care. Peabody, Beverly, Salem, and Danvers, as well as 22 other North Shore counties, make up our core service area. NSCAP is a member of the group, and we recognize that by assisting our neighbors in need, we are strengthening our communities, towns, and cities, which is beneficial to all of us.
