Wnt nelson place school tour – march 31st, 2017

Nelson Place has been a fantastic experience for my daughter. Her teachers have been kind, professional, and concerned for her well-being. My daughter has had an empowering experience with them because they are inspired, passionate, and professional. The administration is warm and friendly, and they aspire to provide the best possible care for the children under their care. This isn’t always simple, particularly in a large district with limited resources, but I’ve never had the impression that my child was in danger or that her education and well-being were not a priority. My daughter enters school with a positive attitude, eager to meet and adult, and eager to tell me about her everyday activities when the school day is over. She’s enthusiastic to learn and willing to improve her talents, which are above her grade level and advancing thanks to the teachers at NPS. This school comes highly recommended by me to anyone looking for a good education for their kids. I can only speak about our own experience, but it has been great.” This is a terrible school, particularly since the principals have changed. She is arrogant and obnoxious, and she could care less about the students and parents; she is only interested in politics, which she does not like. Since principal Kelly’s departure, the school has lost a significant amount of community support and funding. Teachers claim it is not their responsibility to help a child understand “”what they don’t know”” and it is not their job to assist children with special needs. They will contact DCF without first consulting with parents or guardians if they have any concerns. Bullying is a major problem at this school, and they lack the values, judgment, and care for children that will allow them to develop, learn, and thrive.”

Nelson place school – dedication – october, 15, 2017

The new Nelson Place Elementary School project entails the construction of a new pre-kindergarten through sixth-grade elementary school behind the already-occupied Nelson Place School. This project was accomplished without causing any damage to the school or the nearby community just behind the current school. The new building was just 55 feet away from the old school building at its nearest point. Fontaine used “blackout hours” to limit construction vehicle and delivery traffic to particular periods, ensuring that the school day was not interrupted.

As compared to similar students in the state, students at this school are making average academic progress considering where they were last year. Parent tip One of the most important ways that the best schools help all students succeed is by giving them a voice and allowing them to make choices.
It’s worth taking a closer look at: This school’s test results are around the same as the state average, but they are far behind the state’s top-performing colleges. Many students at this school may not be performing at grade level due to low test scores in some states. Parental advice Inquire about the school’s attempts to support students who are falling behind. Understand what on-track learning entails, and inquire about what the school is doing to help students make faster progress.
A concerning sign: Disadvantaged students at this school may be slipping behind their peers in the state, and there may be major achievement gaps at this school. Does this school have opportunities for all of its pupils, or does it exclude some? Schools that are effective know how to close the achievement gap.
