The Sisters of Mercy founded Nazareth in 1901. It was established in 1967 as a private, non-profit organization. Nazareth’s goal is to offer high-quality, trauma-informed treatment to troubled youth and their families in a loving, merciful, compassionate, just, and peaceful atmosphere. Nazareth – backroom boys
Divide the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers to get the student/teacher ratio. Please keep in mind that a lower student-to-teacher ratio does not always imply a smaller class size. Schools occasionally employ part-time teachers, and some teachers are hired for specialized teaching with limited class sizes. The student-to-teacher ratio is influenced by these and other factors. Pre-Kindergarten may not be included in the student/teacher ratio in private schools.
Nazareth – right between the eyes
The McAuley Nazareth Home for Boys is a licensed and certified residential special education school and group home for boys aged six to eighteen who have suffered from mental abuse and neglect. These children have special needs that necessitate extra care and attention. Nazareth offers individually tailored programs to help our socially and behaviorally troubled youth develop their strengths. Small group living, outpatient medical facilities, on-site nursing services, dental care, speech and occupational therapy, individual, family, and group therapy, psychological testing, clinical treatment, social support services to families, pre-vocational & vocational counseling, and leisure opportunities on-site and in the local community are only a few of the options. Residential and day students in Kindergarten through eighth grade have access to in-house special education at Nazareth. For four to eight students, a classroom normally consists of one teacher and a classroom aide. Outside of Nazareth, 9th and 12th grade students attend special education services run by local public and private schools.

The McAuley Nazareth Home for Boys in Leicester, Massachusetts has collaborated with Helping Orphans Nationally & Internationally, Inc. They are a licensed and certified residential special education school and group home that serves children and youth aged 6 to 18 who have suffered from mental distress, violence, or neglect. They provide a full range of educational and therapeutic services, as well as a peaceful, secure environment in which these youth can live and recover in an atmosphere of mercy, kindness, and compassion, and learn to trust again and find hope for the future. Nazareth works to reintegrate these young people into their normal environments, such as their biological or adoptive families, or to put them in the best possible position to become active members of society. They believe that each child is a one-of-a-kind gift, and that every child and family has worth.
S.O.N.G. has agreed to start supporting these children in need in this local facility by offering a “Welcome Kit,” which will give them a special warm welcome when they arrive. A new duffel bag, a special present, a laundry basket, towels, pillowcases, a warm comfortable blanket, a journal, miscellaneous school supplies, a school backpack, and all other hygiene maintenance things will be included. These “kits” become the child’s personal property, which he or she will take with them when they move to a new setting or facility.
