The National Business Honor Society assists OOHS in promoting and recognizing our vibrant students’ academic achievement in business education. The National Business Education Association has named NBHS as an official division.
Welcome to the OOHS NBHS chapter’s FOURTH year! You can get more information by clicking on the links below, sending an email to teresa [email protected], or visiting Mrs. Gellenbeck in room #2006! Wednesday, October 7th from 2:40-3PM is our KICKOFF informational meeting. The meeting dates will be finalized soon, and this year’s meetings will be held on Wednesdays, with a “virtual” option for participation.
Our chapter’s membership more than doubled in year two, we completed a wide range of service projects, and we had a LOT of fun! Induction took place in December, with 31 inductees, the majority of whom remained involved during the school year.
On Wednesday, May 1st, at 3 p.m., we held our end-of-year awards ceremony in the OOHS Media Center to honor our active-status graduates. Details are listed below, with a printable version available at this connection –> NHBS Flyer!

The National Business Honor Society honors academic excellence in business education, fosters and celebrates leadership skills and character development, promotes ethical and social growth through business interest, and facilitates member participation in service learning programs.
Academics, service, and leadership are used to determine membership in the NBHS, with the academic component dependent on total grade point average and GPA in business classes. Each member is expected to take at least four business classes, two of which must be advanced placement or dual enrollment.

The National Business Education Association (NBEA) has a branch named the National Business Honor Society (NBHS). Students who take at least three Business, Marketing, and Information Technology (BMIT) courses are honored by NBHS for their excellent scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Juniors and seniors may apply for membership if they have a BMIT GPA of 3.5 (minimum) and a combined GPA of 3.0 (minimum). NBHS is a wonderful opportunity to boost college applications, scholarship applications, and career applications.
