Mount Sugarloaf State Reservation is a state-owned public recreation area in South Deerfield, just west of the Connecticut River, that is maintained by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. North and South Sugarloaf Mountain summits, as well as 1.75 miles of Connecticut River frontage and two river islands, are all part of the state park. The park is part of the Connecticut River Greenway State Park, which is a broader park designation. The University of Massachusetts Amherst uses portions of the park land along the river for agricultural research.
