We have the most recent details on Middlesex Community College’s annual average net costs from 2018. Tuition, tuition, living expenses, books, and fees, minus average grants and scholarships for federal financial aid applicants, are included in these costs and the average Massachusetts colleges.
In 2019, college and university costs (tuition + living expenses) rose by 2.5 percent across the United States. This year’s inflation rate was lower than the previous two years’ estimates of 2.9 percent in 2018 and 3.4 percent in 2017, but it still highlights the rising costs of sending your children to college.
A 529 plan is one of the most sound plans you can make to help pay for your child’s higher education. These funds usually have a 3-5 percent rate of return and grow tax-free. The only catch is that all grants must be used for higher education, and if they aren’t, there will be financial penalties if they aren’t.
The U.Fund College Investing Scheme, a direct-sold 529 college savings plan operated by Fidelity Investments using Fidelity mutual funds, and the U.Plan Prepaid Tuition Program, provided by MEFA, are also available in Massachusetts.
