Little harvard academy arcadia

They’ve already taken on too much work. Your children will not receive the one-on-one attention they deserve. The student-to-teacher ratio is just too high. Children will complete their homework, but they will not know how to do so.
We had to wait a year to get in. Our child has been there for two years before they called. The staff is very professional and courteous. They will pick up your child from school, and tuition will be prorated for a few months. My child’s cst score improved, and he was still in the 93rd percentile. My children enjoy going there, and the summer program is excellent. If you can get in, do so because it is the best academically, and your child will love it even more. They do not chastise, but rather promote learning. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the staff is pleasant and dedicated. They do assign difficult homework, normally two grades above what my child is learning in public school, which is a highly rated public school in southern California. Don’t worry, the homework isn’t too difficult, but I do need to assist her on occasion. The kids from each grade perform in front of their parents at the summer end award ceremony. Take a look at it on YouTube. highly recommended.

Student spotlight – leadership

Mercury News | bayareanewsgroup.com | [email protected] | UPDATED: August 12, 2016 at 3:34 a.m. | PUBLISHED: June 23, 2015 at 3:31 a.m. SAN MARINO (California) — According to a Pasadena-based expert, the pressure on Asian students to perform well in school and on college admissions exams could lead to “a lot of shame and guilt.”
Many Asian cultures emphasize excelling and working hard all of the time, according to Dr. Thomas Miklusak, a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst with 38 years of experience. If children don’t feel valued for who they are or for trying, he believes this parenting style can be harmful to their emotional well-being.
“Children and adolescents always strive to be ideal, believing that A’s are needed and that anything less is a failure. “There’s always a mindset that the kids will do better if they only work harder,” said Miklusak, who reports that about 25% of his patients are Asian.
“True feelings like depression or fears are often hidden,” he said. “Those negative emotions, disagreements, and perceived shortcomings are often not addressed in a constructive manner, resulting in their non-resolution. In the family, resolutions are often made to work harder in order to achieve optimal grades or to be perfect.”
