Advanced study and innovative work, internships, off-campus (sometimes way off-campus) projects, community service, or a custom mix of the above are all possibilities. With a $2,000 Power of Experience Grant accessible to all new students during their junior and senior years, we help make these opportunities possible.
These interactions, when combined with opportunities to live and learn with students from various backgrounds, provide students with the tools they need to succeed after Knox. Our students develop into active, creative, and productive global citizens who are prepared to live lives with meaning. They run Fortune 500 businesses and grassroots nonprofits, perform big research at locations all over the world, found startups and music festivals, and see a human need and address it.

Resource Center for People with Disabilities We are a non-residential community-based network of services. We’re here to help people with disabilities live more independently. We aim to eliminate physical and mental obstacles in our society in order to achieve freedom. Information and referral, independent living skills, individual system advocacy, and peer support are among the services offered.
Rehab Center at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital Physical and occupational therapists, speech therapists, social workers, nutritionists, psychologists, and physiatrists all work together at Children’s Hospital to inspire each child, involve families, and set attainable targets. The staff teaches families how to integrate recovery activities into daily life at home in order to improve each child’s trust and freedom. A child’s physician-directed inpatient stay at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital includes inpatient physical and occupational therapy services. In intensive care, surgical, and medical units, our therapists provide assessment, treatment, and discharge preparation for children of all ages.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as modified by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008, provides fair accommodations. Extensive time for exams, the availability of note takers, access to tutors in most subjects, changes to testing formats, and the use of assistive technology are all examples of appropriate accommodations.
