Clerical and technical workers, such as those held by HUCTW employees, are graded in work grades 47-56. For each grade, generic role descriptions are available. Job grades 01-43 are used to classify service and trade positions. The Fair Labor Standards Act has established that these workers are eligible for overtime pay (FLSA).
Qualifications, expertise, experience, equity in relation to equivalent jobs, and external market prices are used to determine salary levels within each pay grade. Salary ranges allow for variations in pay between jobs in the same grade, as well as increasing levels of obligation and success within the same work.
The salary levels in the table below reflect base salaries paid across the University for all positions at a given grade. A new recruit should typically expect a starting salary in the lower half of the spectrum. The sum will be determined by the work and the candidate’s related experience. No one would be paid less than the minimum wage.
