Grant & Power Landscaping, founded in 1978, offers a professional and caring experience to its customers from start to finish, from design to installation to landscape protection through quality landscape management programs. We want your experience to be exciting and rewarding. The company, which began as a two-man operation, now employs over 100 people who provide quality goods, excellent service, and landscaping. Gene Grant, the company’s CEO, is a certified landscape architect who is active in the Associated Landscape Contractors of America and the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association. Landscape Architecture, Ornamental Horticulture, and Turf Grass Sciences are among the degrees held by Grant & Power employees.

In the spring of 1978, we started serving clients. Our business has expanded from a two-man enterprise to over 100 talented individuals. We’ve taken pride in fine-tuning our company’s sophistication over the years. As an organization, we aim to achieve our clients’ ultimate goals by working together. Every project allows us to enjoy the satisfaction of designing and maintaining a landscape solution that our clients will be proud of.
Our workers are all experts in their respective fields. They’ve received training in landscape architecture, design, and building, as well as ornamental horticulture. Furthermore, our crew leaders have decades of landscape experience between them.

At 21 he’s landing $100,000 landscaping job after landscaping

With just a two-man crew, Grant & Power Landscaping, Inc. entered the residential landscape maintenance market in Chicago in January 1978. The company has grown to over 100 staff and is now a design/build business. [Editor’s note: In April’s LASN, the “Home and Garden” lighting feature, see an example of Grant & Power’s work on p. 108.]
The company’s founder and CEO is Gene Grant Jr., RLA. Building an organization, Mr. Grant says, is satisfying, and he loves watching his team’s young people develop into leaders. He favors the English garden when it comes to design trends.
The firm’s senior landscape architect and partner is Jan-Gerrit Bouwman, ASLA. He graduated from the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands with a master’s degree in landscape architecture, plant ecology, and vegetation science.
