On the Orange County Court in Florida, Eric H. DuBois is the Group 1 judge. On November 8, 2016, DuBois was elected to the seat in a general election. In 2012, DuBois ran for the state’s 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
DuBois graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in international studies. In June of 2000, he got his J.D. from Barry University School of Law. For 11 years, DuBois served as the associate dean for administration at his law school alma mater. He then joined the law firm of Lapina & DuBois, P.A. as a partner. 1st
In 2016, seats on 39 of Florida’s 67 county courts were up for election. Just one candidate filed for 68 of the 101 seats that were up for election. Uncontested races were cancelled, and the sole candidates were chosen automatically. Just 15 of the 33 opposing races had more than two candidates file. Candidates who secured a majority of the votes cast in the August 30, 2016 primary election won the race and did not advance to the general election. In races where no candidate received 50% plus one of the vote, a general election between the top two primary vote recipients was held on November 8, 2016. In the Orange County Court Group 1 primary election, Eric DuBois and Michael Gibson defeated Roger Scott. [two]

The You Can Run team is proud to have produced campaign materials for more than a dozen local judge election committees in Florida. We create beautiful, instantly usable campaign tools that raise money and get people to vote.
Candidates for judge in Florida must have practiced law for at least five years under the Florida Bar and do not vote for any political party. County supervisors, the Florida Department of State Division of Elections, and the Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission are in charge of judicial elections in Florida. The inclusion of previous work does not mean any kind of endorsement.
You Can Run is a song by Dave Plotkin considers it a privilege to have collaborated with the Committee to Elect Karen Gievers for Leon County Circuit Judge in her 2010 election. Judge Gievers retired in 2019 after a distinguished career.
We had the privilege of working with the Committee to Nominate Gisela T. Laurent for Orange County Judge on her 2016 election. Judge Laurent was assigned to the Ninth Judicial Circuit in February 2021.

I’m not a lawyer, and I’m not regularly interested in the justice system, so if a judgeship is up for election, I dust off my virtual shovel and start digging. If you have something else to say, please do so in the comments section. Here’s what I have:
Eric Dubois stood for Circuit Judge 9, Party 7 in the 2012 elections. According to Frank Torres, DuBois won their straw poll with 100 out of 201 participants after attending the EOCC Hob Nob.
Although the old campaign website is no longer operating, it could be revived in the future. During his 2012 campaign, Eric DuBois made a comment to the Orange County Bar Association, which you can read here. He earned approximately $31,000 in cash donations during that race, and his campaign borrowed $17,000 from himself; he invested approximately $48,000, the majority of which went to commercials or other types of advertising, including several thousand dollars to local chambers of commerce.
