The Bossier Parish School Board is a public school district based in Benton, Louisiana. D.C. Machen is the Superintendent of Bossier Schools as of 2009. Bossier Parish is served by the district.
Benton High School was the first school built by the Bossier Parish School Board in 1890. It had three teachers and only one graduating class by 1905. Grades 6–12 were taught with no more than 25 students per class, with some grades having no students. The Supreme Court issued Desegregation of Schools in May 1969. C.H. Irion High School, Benton’s only black school, became Benton Elementary School, allowing black and white students to attend the same school for the first time in Bossier history. Grades 9–12 are currently taught at Benton High School. 1st
When staff emails were released showing a cavalier attitude toward teaching creationism directly from the bible to pupils, Bossier Parish Schools are chastised. “We pray at school events and potentially break the law all the time!!” said one teacher, Carolyn Goodwin. [two]

This was once the best school in the parish, but the current administration is terrified of students, and the tail wags the dog. Teachers can get away with hitting students, swearing, failing to enter grades, misplacing documents, and so on, and it only takes a phone call to the school board to get things resolved. The administration must reclaim power. Teachers should be expected to respond to emails and phone calls at the very least. What’s unfortunate is that there are some fantastic teachers out there, but even they are discouraged by the bad apples who get away with bad behavior. If students cause a disturbance in class, teachers should be able to write them up. Calling home will only get you so far. The teachers at EGMS are excellent, but they need administrative assistance. The “”right to teach”” is protected by Louisiana law. A law about “”the right to learn”” is also needed. “I am shocked and disgusted to report that my son has been regularly bullied by students for the past two years, despite all of the glowing stuff I’ve always learned about EGMS. I have concerns about their classroom teaching and procedures, as well as their discipline. In the last two years, I’ve received phone calls from two teachers. This is not acceptable.

Our school is located in a quiet residential area near Kenton Park, close to central Harrow. We are lucky to be witnessing a significant transformation over the next few years with the construction of a brand new school building as part of the DFE’s Priority School Building Project. We are also fortunate to be one of Harrow Council’s additional resourced primary schools for physically disabled students, who are completely integrated in the school.
We are honored to be a Silver Rights Respecting School, and we are proud of our diverse staff and students. We come together in an environment of mutual respect. Good leadership, strong management, dedicated employees, governors, parents, and students all work together as a team to achieve this.

Divide the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers to get the student/teacher ratio. Please keep in mind that a lower student-to-teacher ratio does not always imply a smaller class size. Schools occasionally employ part-time teachers, and some teachers are hired for specialized teaching with limited class sizes. The student-to-teacher ratio is influenced by these and other factors. Pre-Kindergarten may not be included of the student/teacher ratio in private schools.
