District West will be the name of the location, which will be located behind Slammers on Long Street in downtown Columbus. It will feature frequent performances by a diverse selection of drag artists, including drag queens, drag kings, AFAB (assigned female at birth) queens, and others. District West’s Executive Entertainment Director will be Virginia West.
West mentioned contractual constraints preventing her from performing at other Central Ohio bars as a primary reason for leaving AXIS, where she has worked on a regular basis for over a decade, during a live outdoor performance last month. We were unable to contact West for comment.
Last month, West announced that District West intended to open on September 20. The new District West will most likely host a drag revue featuring Krystal Else Something, Virginia West, and around a dozen other artists, as revealed recently. Tickets for the revue “Double Take,” which runs September 25th/26th/27th and October 2nd/3rd/4th, go on sale September 10th.
The princess – drag show (columbus, ohio)
Hello, my name is Andrew.
Blair st. clair – now or never
For the past 18 years, I’ve been performing regional theatre and, of course, drag in central Ohio and throughout the United States. Through my charitable fund, The Nina West Foundation, I’ve produced over 35 main stage production shows and raised over two million dollars for local and national charities. I adore Disney, cheese, and puppies, particularly my two super-puppies, Edgar and Felicity.
“It’s incredible to see how generous people are. To me, it’s awe-inspiring. Columbus is a very generous organization, which reflects how close-knit and close-knit our LGBTQ community is. Making connections with families, youth, and LGBTQ families and their children is one of my favorite things about what I do, now more than ever,” Andrew said. “It’s pretty strong and cool to give families access to the art of drag.”
