Lawrence massachusetts zip code

Lawrence is a city on the Merrimack River in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. The city had a population of 76,377 at the time of the 2010 census,[3] which had risen to an estimated 80,028 in 2019. [4] Methuen to the north, Andover to the southwest, and North Andover to the southeast are some of the nearby towns. Before the Commonwealth abolished local government in 1999, the county seats of Essex County were Lawrence and Salem. [5] The Merrimack Valley includes Lawrence.
Electronics, textiles, clothing, paper goods, computers, and foodstuffs are among the city’s manufacturing products. Robert Frost spent his early school years in Lawrence, and his essays and poetry were first published in the Lawrence High School newspaper. [6] The Pennacook or Pentucket tribe, a Native American tribe, had a presence in this region. There has been evidence of farming at Den Rock Park, as well as arrowhead production on the site where the Wood Mill now stands. [7] In 1640, colonists from Newbury arrived in Haverhill by way of the Merrimack River, which flowed in from the coast. [8] Methuen and Andover were in charge of the area that would become Lawrence at the time. The first settlement occurred in 1655, when a blockhouse was built in Shawsheen Fields, now known as South Lawrence.
