The Department of Surgery and Surgical Specialties will be directed by the Chair of the Department, who will oversee all educational, research, and service activities of the Department while also representing it to other College units and divisions, the University, and the community.
The Rockford campus is community-based, and dedication to educational initiatives, research goals, and service related to community-defined needs, which are often centered on rural and underrepresented minority communities, is needed. On interprofessional operations, the Chair may collaborate closely with other units.
• Be in charge of the Department’s budgets, as well as all Departmental personnel, the allocation of services, the care and distribution of Departmental property, and the spending of Departmental funds, in consultation with relevant committees.

The Department of Surgery at Creighton University School of Medicine is seeking a nationally recognized full-time, tenure-track Clinician-Investigator at the level of Associate Professor or Professor to serve as Chair of the Department of Surgery in collaboration with CHI Health and Creighton University Medical Center.
Candidates must have a track record of important academic and clinical achievements, including peer-reviewed publications and strong scientific productivity. Experience in program creation and funded analysis is desired. Candidates should have mentored trainees and junior faculty, have excellent teaching and clinical skills, and be able to function in a highly matrixed environment.
The Chair should be a world-class physician who is actively involved in clinical practice. The clinical initiative percentage is negotiable. Candidates must be board-certified in surgery and have completed a training program approved by the ACGME.

The University of California, Davis, Health System in Sacramento, California is looking for a full-time Academic Surgical Oncologist in the Clinical X, Health Science Clinical Professor, or In-Residence order, depending on experience and qualifications.
Selected candidates will have completed an ACGME-accredited surgical oncology fellowship and will join a practice in the Division of Surgical Oncology at the NCI-accredited University of California, Davis Cancer Center. The aim of this recruitment is on finding a “general surgical oncologist,” but there will be opportunities to specialize in gastrointestinal tumors, endocrine tumors, breast diseases, or other surgical oncology fields. The applicant must be a medical doctor with the long-term aim of opening a multidisciplinary cancer practice. Candidates must be board certified in general surgery and hold a California medical license prior to the start of the appointment. Depending on the academic sequence, candidates may be expected to engage in clinical care, teaching, research, and university service. The applicant must be able to communicate and collaborate with others in a diverse environment. Salary and appointment level will be determined by experience and credentials.
