John joined Hilliard City Schools in 1988, giving him a unique historical perspective on the district. He has served as an Assistant Principal at Hilliard High School and as the Principal of Hilliard Davidson High School for the past 17 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education and general science from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. His master’s degree in athletic administration is from The Ohio State University. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in administration and a superintendent’s degree. John’s key responsibilities will include coordinating our three high schools’ teaching and learning programs, as well as the extensive College Credit Plus program.
In 2015, Samantha began working for the Hilliard City School District. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree in education, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Miami University.
She supports and helps middle-level educators build learning environments that are developmentally sensitive, personalized, and inspiring for our students at the middle level as the director of middle-level education. She is passionate about educating the entire kid, with a focus on instilling optimism and grit in our adolescents as they mature academically and emotionally.

The Master of Education in Integrated Social Studies contributes to an initial teaching certificate in Ohio for grades 7-12 social studies. You’ll be trained to become a teacher leader who promotes educational equality and fairness.
Core courses include equality and diversity in education, Integrated Social Studies teaching and learning practices, one-on-one technology, a master’s degree, and an inquiry-based project that illustrates students’ readiness to become licensed teachers. This training will train you to become a school system representative who will advocate for social justice issues in the classroom. Our theory-to-practice approach to teacher education helps you to test out new skill sets in a hands-on environment with two supervised student teaching experiences.
