CLASS® is a versatile tool that focuses on what makes great teaching great: the teacher-student interactions that have been shown to drive learning and growth. Children in classrooms with more effective teacher-student interactions, as calculated by CLASS, have improved social and academic results, according to over 200 research studies. For one basic purpose, CLASS is included in 23 states’ QRIS measures: it works.
Teachers will enhance their interactions with children every day with the right resources, according to research, by cultivating supportive, organized, and interactive classroom environments across the CLASS domains. We’ve created tools to assist in collaboration with Teachstone, the experts who created the CLASS.
We’ve found a pattern after 20 years of observing teacher-child interactions. On the instructional support domain, teachers have the lowest ranking. The Instructional Support Kit gives teachers CLASS-based advice about how to use resources in their classroom that are matched to pattern-related developmental results in mathematics. It also aids teachers in the development of their students’ reasoning and language skills.
