This online bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies is designed for adults interested in or already employed in organizations and services that serve children, adolescents, and families. It will help you gain the knowledge and skills you need to advance your career in enhancing children’s academic, social, and emotional development.
With online courses in multicultural education, teaching strategies, behavior management, the family, child psychology, inclusion, special education, and management/non-profit administration, you can design your own degree concentration to suit your interests and career goals through the UWW Degree Completion Program.
You will advance your career in education, child advocacy, youth and family programming, and administration with an Interdisciplinary Studies degree with a focus on children’s learning and development.
Though this is not a teacher certification program, we might be able to assist you in preparing for provisional licensure in Massachusetts. If you live in a state other than Massachusetts, Jesse Lederman, one of our staff members, will be happy to assist you in locating the state board or organization you’ll need to contact to see if our program fits your state’s requirements.

When in their care, child care services have a significant impact on what infants and toddlers see, hear, touch, taste, sound, and smell. This course looks at health and safety, room and furnishings, learning areas, and other aspects of healthy environments for infants and toddlers.
Children with high self-esteem are happier, more secure in their abilities, and less fearful of failure than their peers with low self-esteem. This course explains what self-esteem is, how to tell the difference between healthy and negative self-esteem, and how to help children develop self-esteem.
