Beginning in 1996, Evensong Ministries was established in Southern New Hampshire.

Sunday service, october 4th, 2020

Diakonia Ministries, founded by Jim and Marie David, provided pastoral services to people in the region. Spiritual guidance, Reiki, wedding ceremonies, and other life celebrations were all available through Diakona Ministries. Jim and Marie purchased land on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in 2002 with the intention of opening a retreat center. Evensong Retreat Center was created, and Evensong Ministries was founded. Evensong Retreat Center, located on Lower County Road in Harwich Port, offered a quiet and prayerful retreat environment for over 1500 individuals and groups from all over Cape Cod and beyond over the years. People came for scheduled retreats as well as private individual retreats.
Rev. James David holds a Master in Divinity from Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. At Evensong Ministries, LLC, Jim is a senior associate. He is the co-pastor of St. Mary of Magdala Church and the Harwich Police Department’s Chaplain.

I’d like to express my gratitude to Bob Carlson for his assistance in the preparation of this page; much of the information on this page was provided by or checked by Bob or his web site. His Cape Cod Gravestones website is the best online resource for graveyard research on Cape Cod, and it’s one that any Cape Cod researcher should bookmark.
The project to collect information about Harwich’s cemeteries is ongoing, and this page will be updated as needed. Please send me an email if you have any cemetery details or gravestone transcriptions to share.
The records archive for a cemetery is stated where I have been able to ascertain it. If a cemetery has its own web site or a section of a web site, the cemetery name includes a link to that site in the individual cemeteries’ entries. When the location of a cemetery is identified, there are links to street and topographic maps as well as a brief overview of the location to assist you in finding it. A locator map of the town appears below these paragraphs; hover your mouse over a sector to highlight it, then press to pull up a sector map showing the cemetery locations in that part of town. Links can be found in every online gravestone transcription. A separate section at the bottom of the page lists both online and written gravestone transcriptions I’ve found for these cemeteries.
