For the first week after installation, all shrubs and evergreens should be watered regularly. There is little to no need to water your shrubbery if your lawn sprinklers are reaching it with water. When watering by hand, run water for around 15 seconds per plant at normal pressure. Additional watering can be needed during hot weather. When trees are planted in the yard, they can not be watered until new sod has been laid. Trees in an existing lawn, on the other hand, should be watered three times a week. Water your trees in a landscape bed the same way you water your shrubs and evergreens. Water the groundcover every other day until it has formed itself. During hot weather, they may need daily watering.
