Vision recovery consultants, occupational counselors, residential counselors, case managers, and special education teachers are among our over 400 employees. Perkins school for the blind pre-employment program

The ideal candidate would have experience teaching students of different ages and levels, as well as a passion for expanding a studio through sound pedagogy, careful lesson preparation, and motivating students to engage in performance opportunities and musical experiences outside of private lessons (recitals, ensembles, workshops).
The ideal candidate would be able to play acoustic, classical, and electric guitar in a variety of styles, as well as be familiar with repertoire, techniques, and ideas from the classical, jazz, blues, funk, pop, rock, and folk traditions. It is preferred if you have the skill and motivation to engage students’ imagination through improvisatory music styles.
The ability to represent the school to our students and their families includes organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. A bachelor’s degree in guitar performance is required; a master’s degree or equivalent—as evidenced by teaching and performing experience—is preferred.
The perfect candidate will be able to start teaching in June 2021 and carry on for the remainder of the school year and beyond. BMS is looking for a minimum two-year dedication to the faculty, with at least two days per week being Saturday.
