My child spent two years at Brackett. Both years were frustrating and stressful in several respects. The school is well-run, with a strong arts program and excellent academics. If your child has ADD/ADHD or another known learning or developmental disorder, be mindful that they might be denied support services that they need to excel and be content in this setting. We received allegations for two years that our kindergartener, then first grader, fidgeted, lacked self-control, and acted inappropriately in the classroom. We tried twice to get accommodations for our child to help them concentrate and were refused both times, despite our child having a known neurological disorder. We found the hard way that this school and district had a poor reputation for refusing to offer special education and/or 504 accommodations to their students. This is an outstanding school for a neurotypical kid with average or higher intelligence. Be cautious if your child deviates from the pattern. I can’t talk about the SPED software because, though it was important, we were never going to get access to it.
