We’ll run a pilot test of a voluntary reopening phase with a few labs next month, enabling faculty and staff to return to campus in the second week of Summer Session II, beginning July 20, under some guidelines and restrictions. As we continue to refine our physical distancing and other activities, this move will enable us to gradually repopulate the campus.
Many of you are probably curious about what courses and student programs will be available in the fall. We’re keeping a close eye on when classes will be held and how many parts of each course will be available. The fall course schedule is currently being finalized and will be available in mid-July, at which point we will give you another update. While several courses will continue to be available online, we hope to deliver many hands-on laboratory courses in person. Public health conditions, as well as city and state policies, are constantly changing, and we appreciate your patience as we figure out how to open the campus safely.
Your Student Success coach or another member of the Student Support team can email you and stay in touch with you on a regular basis. They will encourage you to use Canvas, complete your tasks, engage in class discussions, and ask questions of your professors. Any concerns you might have can be directed to them. They’re there to assist you.
