Bausch + Lomb is a Canadian eye care company headquartered in Laval, Quebec.
It is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of contact lenses, lens care materials, pharmaceuticals, intraocular lenses, and other products used in eye surgery.

Bausch + Lomb was a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange until 2007, when it was purchased by private equity firm Warburg Pincus. Valeant Pharmaceuticals, based in Canada, announced in May 2013 that it will buy Bausch + Lomb from Warburg Pincus for $8.57 billion in cash.  The transaction, which received shareholder approval, contained $4.2 billion in debt repayment for Bausch + Lomb and was completed on August 5, 2013.
