Sorry for giving this school such a low rating; I’ve never been there, but my mother is pressuring me to attend this school year. I’m not really from Avon! But, in any case, I don’t like the academic or athletic standings, and I’m particularly disappointed that there is no track team. Readers, please wish me luck this year, and parents, please do not make your child unhappy by sending them here.
I am currently a student here, and both my parents and I are dissatisfied with the school. The opportunities here are extremely small, and I want to make the most of my education. I’m not saying Avon High is the worst school ever; it simply lacks many of the characteristics of a good high school. Over the years, there have been some improvements, but not many. I’m looking at a variety of other schools and am excited to leave Avon. National Center for Education Statistics, Pitney Bowes, and GreatSchools provided school results. Just to be used as a guide. The GreatSchools Rating is based on a number of metrics of school quality, such as test scores, college readiness, and equity data. Contact the school or district directly to confirm enrollment eligibility.

Divide the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers to get the student/teacher ratio. Please keep in mind that a lower student-to-teacher ratio does not always imply a smaller class size. Schools occasionally employ part-time teachers, and some teachers are hired for specialized teaching with limited class sizes. The student-to-teacher ratio is influenced by these and other factors. Pre-Kindergarten may not be included of the student/teacher ratio in private schools.

As compared to similar students in the state, students at this school are making average academic progress considering where they were last year. Parent tip One of the most important ways that the best schools help all students succeed is by giving them a voice and allowing them to make choices.
It’s worth taking a closer look at: This school’s test results are around the same as the state average, but they are far behind the state’s top-performing colleges. Many students at this school may not be performing at grade level due to low test scores in some states. Parental advice Inquire about the school’s efforts to assist students who are falling behind. Understand what on-track learning entails, and inquire about what the school is doing to help students make faster progress.
Very concerning: Disadvantaged students at this school may be lagging behind their peers in the state, and there may be significant achievement gaps at this school. Does this school have opportunities for all of its pupils, or does it exclude some? Schools that are effective know how to close the achievement gap.
