It’s a thing that’s happening to her.
This writer is unable to coordinate her thoughts and remain focused on a single subject. She starts by discussing her family, but quickly shifts the focus to wanting to be friends with Molly. She could use a graphic organizer to help her brainstorm all of her thoughts about a single subject and arrange them before she starts. A graphic organizer that lists incidents would be more fitting because this is a personal tale rather than a story with an issue and environment. How to help your 2nd grader write an essay

Second-graders are just starting to improve their writing abilities. Students should begin voicing their views, recounting histories, and giving step-by-step guidance in their writing by the second grade.
