Here’s a picture of four 1800uF caps running at 16V. They might be bigger than what you currently have, but that isn’t a problem if they physically match. Where did they originate? I had set aside an old motherboard. For that reason, I keep a lot of old electronics. The parts are also well-organized and easy to find when they’re needed.

I wish I knew more about this, but unfortunately, I don’t. I had a radial lead aluminum electrolytic capacitor that died on me (rated at 470mF and 25v). Is it possible to replace it with one that is valued at 35V, or do I need to get one that is exactly the same? It’s for a plasma, so if 35V has the potential to cause more harm, please let me know!
Make sure the replacement component has the same ESR (equivalent series resistance), rated ripple current, and rated hours as the original. Instead of a high-performance cap, use a general-purpose cap (usually rated for 1000 hours or less, with ripple current defined at 120Hz) (ripple current specified at 100kHz, ESR in milliohms)
If the original capacitor was used in a high-frequency application (for example, a capacitor on the output of a switching regulator), replacing it with a component that isn’t suitable for the job would result in the cap’s existence being drastically shortened and the need to repair it until it blows up.
As long as the above parameters are comparable, switching from 25V to 35V shouldn’t be a problem. When you get past 35V, there are fewer and fewer high-performance capacitors available (the majority of low ESR parts tend to be 25V or lower).
